Healing our sorrows and wounds

heart

“Our sorrows and wounds are healed only when we touch them with compassion.” ~Jack Kornfield

It’s so tempting to want to bully ourselves into healing … or at least into ceasing to feel the sorrows and wounds we have. We think that if we could just push ourselves to move through the process faster that we will feel better sooner.

And yet, healing only comes when we are able to give those sorrows and wounded places our compassion, allowing them to be just as they are in this moment. Only then do they begin to heal.
