Mindfulness is a love affair

Buddha Statue

“Ultimately, I see mindfulness as a love affair—with life, with reality and imagination, with the beauty of your own being, with your heart and body and mind, and with the world.” ~Jon Kabat-Zinn

It is easy to see spending time in a mindfulness practice as a waste of our time that could otherwise be spent doing something more “productive.”

But who, in the midst of a love affair, thinks of spending time with their beloved as a waste of time?

When we recognize that mindfulness is engaging in a love affair with all that is, all thoughts of wasting our time on it fade away to be replaced by a longing for yet more time with the beloved.

How could you find more ways to treat mindfulness as a love affair? How would that change your relationship with life?
