Rebirthing ourselves

Rebirthing ourselves

“Human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, but … life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves.” ~Gabriel García Márquez

The many endings in our lives are not truly THE END (even when it feels that way). They are just another opportunity for us to give birth to ourselves all over again in new form.

The terror and pleasure of rebirth

waves in the sand

“Life consists of continually facing the terror and pleasure of becoming a new individual without history. … It is as if you live and die many times.” ~Arnold Mindell

Dying to our old self to become someone new is the path of transformation.

With each journey through the process, I experience more pleasure and less terror, but the terror never completely goes away.

How do you experience this continual death and rebirth process in your life?
